Ford taps university talents to enhance in-car applications
Ford always thinks differently and reinvents the way it approaches research to deliver the products that people want. That is why it is now roping in university students broadening its advanced research and innovation through open collaboration on Ford SYNC, the industry-leading in-vehicle connectivity system. Ford of Clermont, your neighborhood Minneola Ford Car Dealer, in Florida believes that this unique collaboration will result in new strategic insights which will enhance the in-car experience for drivers, and drive demand for new features in Ford vehicles. Researchers from Ford and students of University of Michigan and the University of Detroit Mercy (UDM) will work together to create and enhance in-car applications and provide valuable insights into the dynamic of current driver trends. Ford would sponsor the UDM/Ford Innovation Contest to conceive a new application for SYNC that addresses an unmet customer need – no hardware or software necessary. The contest would educate students on the basic operation of SYNC and challenge them to envisage a future SYNC application that solves a consumer problem. At the University of Michigan, students would start beta testing Ford prototype software platforms for a winter course on embedded automotive telematics. The course would have 25 to 30 students of multiple disciplines in small teams collaborating on the Ford developmental platform and build upon its connectivity capabilities – creating social networking interfaces, accessing cloud services and mobile network management. Ford of Clermont, your neighborhood Clermont Ford Car Dealer for new Ford vehicles and used cars, located near Oakland and Minneola in Florida, feels that the collaboration with university students is an essential part of delivering innovative ideas. It will redefine the driver experience, making drivers and their vehicles connected-content generators, not just isolated travelers. This is not all. There’s more. Keep on checking these pages to learn more about the innovative ideas Ford has in store for their vehicles, and to check our updates on special offers and more! Why is Ford Taurus a Fashion Icon!
Ford of Clermont, the leading Ford dealer selling used and new cars in Clermont, presents the new fashion icon – Ford Taurus. Ford designers commonly refer to accents of a vehicle, such as headlamps, as the "jewelry" of the car because they are specifically designed to complement its other aspects, add professed value and provide an artistic improvement to an already functional, expensive part of the vehicle. The headlamps of the 2010 Taurus offer a seamless blend of functionality and aesthetics. The headlamps feature a distinct, sculpted design along with unique finishes that enhance the expressive design of the all-new Taurus. There are certain rules that apply to fashion and accessories like heavy jewelry cannot be paired with a casual sports outfit. Earl Lucas, the exterior design manager for the 2010 Taurus, believes that the same accessorizing rules apply even while designing a sophisticated sedan. Every car has a personality and an image to convey. The "accessories," which in this case are the headlamps of the 2010 Ford Taurus, must be designed and detailed to project the proper image. The Taurus has an elegant image. So it should have jewelry to match. In all, there are three finishes in the headlamp. They are chrome, satin and black plastic imbued with metallic flake. There are also two grains offering textural relief: a lighter satin and a velvet etch, which provide a rougher, sandblasted-type contrast to the edging. The chrome has been applied sparingly to the 2010 Ford Taurus, using it only on choice components in the headlamps, the side vent and across the bottom front mouth of the SHO and Limited edition. This has been done to give it a classy look. Please contact Ford of Clermont for more information on the Ford Taurus. You can also get in touch with us to learn more about the special offers on new Ford cars and to schedule a test drive. Labels: 2010 Ford Taurus
